Dental Implant Costs

August 8, 2011 – 10:06 am
Dental implant costs can often be a little bit like an iceberg. Some places only advertise the part that floats above the water. You need to be an educated consumer and make sure you ask all the right questions so that you know what awaits you below the surface of the water. Make sure and get the complete picture. What about warranty? What happens if something goes wrong. What is NOT included?

Dental Implants and Permanent Teeth in a Day

June 18, 2011 – 8:49 am
In order to provide a patient with same day teeth, the prosthesis that they receive on the day of surgery is usually not reinforced. Some people say that this reduces the stress on the dental implants and allows them to better integrate. The prosthesis is then replaced after approximately 6 months with a new one that is reinforced with titanium.

Acrylic vs. Porcelain

Many people used to think that porcelain teeth were more aesthetically pleasing than acrylic but with today's technology improvement, we seldom have people asking for porcelain any longer. The aesthetic results from acrylic are now very, very good.

Dental Implants vs. Different Ways to Lose Dentures

June 3, 2011 – 12:25 pm
I thought I had heard all the strange stories about how people lose their dentures but the other day, I heard a new one.    My buddy John is a very avid fisherman.  He just loves to  fish - even in rough water.  Well, the seas were especially choppy one day and John lost his sea legs (and his lunch) over the side of the boat.  Suddenly, poor John realized that he had also lost his teeth.  Somewhere in the Pacific was a shark with an extra set of (acrylic) teeth...   John wasn't going to be smiling very big in his trophy pictures that day.  Now if John had elected to proceed with a dental implant solution before his fishing trip, he would still be smiling in the trophy pictures.

Why do people hate dentures?

August 19, 2009 – 4:12 am
As I learn more about conventional dentures, I continue to be surprised about how conventional dentures negatively impact people's lives.  The other day I met a woman who loved to travel.  She told me how she couldn't go swimming in the ocean with her dentures because she would lose them and never be able to find them....  She hated her dentures and wanted to find a dental implant solution.
